Job Title: Nursing Administrator Profession: Nursing Specialty: Nursing Administration Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 10hr Day Shift Hours per Shift: 40 Experience: 2-3 years of acute care experience License: Required RN License Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: - Critical care experience preferred - Trauma experience at a Level 1-2 - EPIC experience required Description: This position is for a nursing administrator in a surgical room. The facility is a Level I Trauma Center and Magnet Designated. It has a capacity of 794 beds. The unit has 28 beds, including hybrid rooms for cardiovascular and vascular procedures. The average census is between 60-75 cases per day. The patient types include outpatient and inpatient cases, with common diagnoses such as gunshot wounds, stabbings, and various transplant procedures. The hybrid room handles between 5-10 cases per day, primarily adults, including TAVR, AAA, and angiograms. There is a small percentage of pediatric cases. No liver or lung transplants are performed. Participation in specific surgical cases may be required. An OR RN is expected to scrub and circulate efficiently. Critical care experience is preferred for candidates. Knowledge of EPIC is a must for all nursing positions. The department offers support through charge nurses and resource nurses. Technology used includes an EMR system and IV pumps. Work schedules include a rotation every fourth weekend. Shift times can vary throughout the week, accommodating both day and night shifts. The operating room is open continuously, with reduced staffing during specific hours for trauma and urgent cases. Holiday coverage is required for this position. On-call responsibilities will be part of the role, with a 30-minute response time expected.
