Job Title: Surgical Room Nurse (RN) Profession: Nursing Specialty: Nursing Administration Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Evening Shift Hours per Shift: 8 hours Experience: 2-3 years of acute care experience License: Registered Nurse (RN) Certifications: BLS, ACLS required for OR/CVOR RN; BLS, CST for Surgical Tech; BLS, ARRT for Hybrid IR Tech; BLS, CSA for Surgical Assistant. Must-Have: - Ability to scrub and circulate. - Critical care experience preferred. - EPIC experience required. Description: This position is for nurses working in a surgical room environment. The facility operates as a Level I Trauma Center and is Magnet designated. The unit consists of 28 beds with an average census of 60-75 cases per day. The types of procedures include outpatient and inpatient surgeries, trauma cases, and complex transplant cases. Experience with adult and pediatric cases is required. Nurses will participate in Hybrid Room cases, conducting 5-10 cases daily, depending on case scheduling. Hybrid IR Techs must have Siemens equipment experience and familiarity with various patient types. Support within the department includes charge nurses with no patient assignments, resource nurses, surgeons, and service line representatives. Technological tools utilized include an EMR system and IV pump systems. The surgical department operates 24/7, with specific weekend and holiday rotations required. On-call responsibilities will vary based on shifts and service lines with a 30-minute response time. Attendance at required holidays and on-call shifts is mandatory. Surgical staff will be required to wear designated scrub colors during their shifts.
