Job Title: Registered Nurse First Assistant (RNFA) Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Surgery - General Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Days Hours per Shift: 8 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience required License: Active Illinois nursing license or confirmation of application process initiation required Certifications: BLS, Certified Registered Nurse First Assistant (CRNFA) Must-Have: Experience with robotic and open procedures, experience with firing staplers, scrubbing required, assisting surgeon required Description: Unit performs surgical procedures across 31 operating rooms located in two buildings. The unit handles 40-60 cases per day specializing in general surgery. Common procedures include robotic colon surgeries, hernias, gastric sleeves, gastric bypasses, and cholecystectomies. Charge nurse and house supervisor report to the charge nurse. Surgical technologists are part of the general surgery team. The facility utilizes the EPIC electronic medical record system. Shifts run Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM with call requirements based on physician needs. Call response time is expected within 30 minutes. Floating is not required for this position. Scrubs will be provided. There is a cancellation policy allowing changes up to 12 hours every 13 weeks. Candidates must understand the organization is a drug-free campus and be willing to complete a negative drug screen for all panels.
