Registered Nurse – Operating Room

Aberdeen, SD

Contract | Full-Time | Onsite | Days | 8-Hour Shifts (64–80 hours per pay period) | Call rotation required (1–2 days per week, every 2nd–4th weekend, rotating holidays)

• Circulate surgery cases across multiple surgical specialties including general, OB/GYN, urology, orthopedics, podiatry, ENT, cardiovascular, and bariatrics
• Pull, prep, set up, clean, and turn over operating rooms using a preference card system
• Operate and assist with surgical equipment including arthroscopic pumps and shavers, cautery machines, laser, fracture table, and C-arm X-ray
• Document patient care using computerized charting (Epic) and manage medications through an automated dispensing system (Pyxis)
• Participate in call rotation including weekends and rotating holidays
• Float within the peri-operative department as needed, including pre-op, post-op, outpatient services, and PACU

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in South Dakota (or compact eligibility)
• Minimum of 2 years of Operating Room experience
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
• Strong organizational and documentation skills; experience working from preference card systems

• Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
• Experience with Epic electronic health records and Pyxis medication management systems
• Familiarity with a broad range of surgical specialties and associated equipment

• Work in a well-equipped facility featuring 4 OR suites, a procedure room, 8 PACU bays, and 18 patient center rooms with clearly defined nurse-to-patient ratios
• Receive a structured departmental and facility orientation program, including hands-on training for any equipment or supplies requiring additional familiarization
