Key Responsibilities
Provides routine and complex nursing care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients in an Operating Room/Surgery setting.
Administers medications and treatments per appropriate protocol; monitors for side effects and effectiveness of prescribed treatments.
Addresses psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families in accordance with scope of practice.
Documents patient history, symptoms, medications administered, and care provided accurately and thoroughly.
Assesses learning needs and provides education to patients, family members, and/or caregivers; identifies issues and available resources.
Makes appropriate assignments and delegates to other care providers as needed to manage clinical situations effectively.
Required Qualifications
Active RN License in state of employment or a valid compact state license.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
Minimum of 1 year of experience in Operating Room or surgical nursing.
Ability to participate in on-call and weekend requirements as needed.
Preferred Experience / Skills
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
Experience managing complex clinical contingencies and delegating effectively within a surgical care team.
