Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a 16-suite operating room environment, supporting an average of 35–50 cases per day with turnover expectations under 20 minutes
• Circulate and/or scrub across a broad range of service lines including Cardiac/Peripheral Vascular, Neurology, Orthopedic Trauma, Robotics, Gynecology, Urology, General Surgery, Pediatrics, Transplants, ENT, and Plastics
• Operate and assist with specialized equipment including Da Vinci robotic systems, Stealth neuro-navigation technology, and Synthes/Stryker orthopedic trauma instrumentation
• Maintain a 1:1 patient ratio and adhere to all Level I Trauma Center protocols, including reserving OR suites for trauma cases as needed
• Float across multiple campuses as required and participate in weekend call coverage (end of shift Friday through 6:30 AM Monday)
• Document accurately using EPIC EMR in compliance with facility standards

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 24 months of current Operating Room experience (hospital/medical center experience prioritized)
• Circulating experience in the Operating Room is required
• Experience in General Surgery, Da Vinci Robotics, Pediatrics, and Trauma cases is required
• Trauma Level II experience required
• EPIC EMR experience within the previous 3 years required
• Must have completed at least one prior travel assignment within the previous 15 months — first-time travelers are not eligible
• Active Iowa RN license or Compact/Multistate license required at time of submission
• BLS certification through AHA (American Heart Association) or ARC (American Red Cross) required
• Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible (based on driver's license)

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Scrub experience in the Operating Room is highly preferred
• Experience in Neurology, Orthopedics (primarily trauma), Gynecology, Urology, Transplants, Plastics, ENT, and Vascular cases is highly preferred
• Trauma Level I experience is highly preferred
• Professional reference from a charge nurse, supervisor, nurse manager, director, CNO, or COO within the past 24 months is preferred
