Key Responsibilities
  • Assess patient needs through history, observation, physical examination, and analysis of diagnostic data; provide nursing interventions consistent with the Plan of Care and physician-prescribed medical plans.
  • Perform all circulating duties, including prepping the operating room for patient and procedure, positioning and preparing the patient on the operating table, and utilizing appropriate health and safety equipment within or outside the sterile field.
  • Complete verification of the Safe Surgery checklist in accordance with service excellence standards and serve as the communication liaison to family members and the operating team.
  • Delegate, supervise, and evaluate the activities of other team members while executing immediate directives and interventions in urgent or emergent situations.
  • Record all care information concisely, accurately, and completely in a timely manner using appropriate formats and forms; utilize computer programs to support patient care delivery.
  • Participate in assigned call as scheduled and assist in the control and maintenance of supplies and equipment.
Required Qualifications
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.
  • Experience in an Operating Room or perioperative nursing setting.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform all circulating duties with efficiency and speed.
  • Proficiency with computer programs utilized in patient care delivery.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to maintain a professional image consistent with service excellence standards.
Preferred Experience / Skills
  • Experience delegating and supervising other clinical team members in a fast-paced surgical environment.
