Key Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing interventions and plans of care in the perioperative setting
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, clinical coordinators, and surgical technicians to support patient well-being throughout surgical procedures
• Maintain sterile fields and oversee the correct care, handling, and sterilization of sterile supplies and instruments
• Apply principles of aseptic practice and oversee the selection and preparation of supplies, equipment, and instrumentation for all surgical cases
• Maintain accurate sponge, needle, and instrument counts per policy, including communicating count results to the surgeon
• Identify, label, and handle all specimens and cultures according to established policies and procedures

Required Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
• Current Massachusetts RN license required
• Active BLS certification (AHA) required; ACLS required upon hire or must be obtained within 60 days of hire
• Ability to function effectively in an environment with competing priorities
• Excellent communication skills and ability to multitask

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior Operating Room nursing experience strongly preferred
• CNOR certification strongly preferred
