Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive surgical patient care by assessing, planning, and implementing nursing care before, during, and after surgery across a wide range of specialties (excluding cardiac and ophthalmology)
• Perform patient assessments and monitor physical and emotional well-being throughout the surgical care continuum
• Create and maintain a sterile and safe surgical environment
• Provide pre- and post-operative patient education to a pediatric through adult patient population
• Function primarily in a circulating role across up to 14 operating rooms, including coverage in Labor & Delivery for C-sections
• Integrate and coordinate patient care across all phases of the surgical experience, with strong emphasis on vascular and orthopedic surgery

Required Qualifications

• Active New York State Registered Nurse (RN) license
• BLS (AHA) and ACLS (AHA) certifications required — must be current and uploaded with profile
• Minimum 2 years of current Operating Room experience required
• Float experience in vascular, orthopedic, trauma, general surgery, robotic, urology, and ENT required
• Both scrub and circulate experience required
• EPIC EMR experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Must have own personal vehicle — firm requirement
• Must complete approved verbal de-escalation training prior to onboarding (accepted programs: Welle, CPI, or PMCS)
• Candidates with a permanent address in the following New York counties are not eligible for this assignment: Albany, Columbia, Dutchess, Fulton, Greene, Montgomery, Rensselaer, Saratoga, Schenectady, Ulster, Warren, or Washington

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Scrub experience in addition to circulating is a strong plus
• Experience with robotic surgical procedures
• Familiarity with a high-volume OR environment (approximately 50 procedures per day)
