Key Responsibilities
Provide perioperative nursing care across a diverse range of surgical specialties including orthopedics/total joint, trauma, neurosurgery, GYN/urology, vascular, and thoracic surgery
Assist with and support a broad spectrum of surgical procedures including laparoscopic, robotic (Da Vinci Xi), open, and endoscopic cases
Perform phlebotomy and peripheral IV placement as required competencies for all RNs in this setting
Adhere to universal protocol (time-out procedure), infection control, laser safety, radiation safety, and specimen handling and labeling standards
Participate in on-call responsibilities as required by department needs
Float to other areas within the department as needed
Required Qualifications
Active, unencumbered New York State RN license (must be in hand at time of submission)
Minimum of 3 years of Operating Room nursing experience
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Proficiency with EPIC electronic health records (hard requirement)
Demonstrated competency in phlebotomy and peripheral IV insertion
Must reside more than 75 miles from the facility
Preferred Experience / Skills
Experience across multiple surgical specialties including vascular, thoracic, neuro, GYN/urology, and orthopedic/spine procedures
Familiarity with robotic-assisted surgery, including the Da Vinci Xi Surgical System
Prior travel nursing experience (first-time travelers are not accepted for this role)
