Key Responsibilities
Serve as the circulating RN in the operating room, demonstrating critical thinking, scientific judgment, and leadership in patient care planning and delivery
Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, OR technicians, and other surgical team members to provide safe, high-quality patient care in accordance with State Nurse Practice Act, AORN, and regulatory standards
Ensure availability and readiness of surgical supplies and support the timeliness of cases
Communicate with patients' families and update physician preference cards as needed
Assist physicians during surgical cases, including scrubbing when required, and supervise personnel delivering patient care
Provide required call coverage including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
Required Qualifications
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in the state of Kentucky or compact licensure eligibility
Minimum of 2 years of Operating Room experience as a Circulator
Prior travel nursing experience required
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced surgical environment
Strong knowledge of AORN standards, hospital policies, and surgical department procedures
Preferred Experience / Skills
Experience scrubbing in addition to circulating in a variety of surgical specialties
Familiarity with physician preference card management and surgical supply coordination
