Contract | Days/Varied Shifts | Onsite | Shift options include 8-, 10-, and 12-hour shifts with varied start times (7:00 AM–5:30 PM, 7:00 AM–3:00 PM, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM, 11:00 AM–7:00 PM, 3:00 PM–11:00 PM, and 11:00 PM–11:00 AM); block scheduling available based on unit needs; no self-scheduling for travelers
Key Responsibilities
Circulate and/or scrub surgical cases across a high-volume OR environment handling 35–45 cases per day across 9 ORs, one procedure room, and one hybrid room
Support a broad range of surgical specialties including general, ENT, ophthalmology, orthopedics, robotic surgery (da Vinci and Rosa), neuro-spine, vascular, trauma, and pediatric dental/ENT cases
Pass robotic arms in and out during robotic-assisted procedures; comfort and proficiency with robotic platforms is required
Participate in on-call rotation including one weeknight call (7:00 PM–7:00 AM), one weekend 24-hour call per month (7:00 AM–7:00 PM), and holiday rotation as needed; call response time is within 30 minutes
Assist with room turnover as needed, as no dedicated housekeeping or aide staff are present on the unit
Evening and night shift RNs must be comfortable serving as the sole RN on the unit alongside two surgical technologists and managing all surgical specialties independently
Required Qualifications
Active RN licensure
BLS and ACLS certifications required
Minimum 2–3 years of Operating Room experience required
Minimum 2–3 prior travel assignments required
Orthopedic surgical experience required
Hands-on experience passing robotic arms in and out during robotic-assisted procedures required
Proficiency with Epic EMR required
Preferred Experience / Skills
PALS certification preferred
Scrubbing experience is a plus, though not required for RNs
Broad multi-specialty OR experience strongly preferred, particularly for evening, night, and weekend shifts
Willingness to learn or refresh skills in a specific service line for day-shift candidates with experience concentrated in one specialty
