Key Responsibilities
Plan, coordinate, deliver, and evaluate nursing care for patients whose protective reflexes or self-care abilities are potentially compromised during operative or other invasive procedures.
Provide direct and indirect professional nursing care for patients in the operating room.
Perform ongoing evaluation and documentation of all components of care delivered within the perioperative environment utilizing the nursing process.
Individualize patient care according to the patient's health status, age level, and surgery or procedure being performed.
Apply clinical knowledge, judgment, and clinical-reasoning skills based on scientific principles to address the physical, psychological, and spiritual responses of the surgical patient.
Required Qualifications
Minimum of one (1) year of experience in an acute operating room environment.
Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
Current RN License issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing, or a current multistate compact RN License (eNLC).
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
Knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, techniques, and procedures, including AORN Standards.
Ability to organize, plan, coordinate, and evaluate nursing services; strong verbal, written, and team communication skills.
Preferred Experience / Skills
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or higher from a board-approved program.
CNOR certification.
