Key Responsibilities
- Provide perioperative nursing care across a high-volume OR environment performing over 400 cases per month across 6 suites
- Support a broad mix of surgical specialties including orthopedics (total joints and sports medicine), general, OB/GYN, robotic, plastics, ENT, urology, hand, podiatry, and breast reconstruction procedures
- Collaborate with OR technicians, anesthesia teams, and surgeons to ensure safe and efficient patient care for both adult and pediatric populations
- Document patient care accurately using EPIC EMR
- Participate in call coverage, including 6–7 weeknight call shifts per month, 2–3 weekend call shifts per 13-week contract, and at least 1 holiday call
- Float within the OR department as needed to accommodate changing case volumes
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license in good standing
- Current BLS certification
- Demonstrated ability to scrub and/or circulate total joint, robotic, general laparoscopic, urology, hand and foot, and breast reconstruction cases
- Must pass a department-specific open-book skills exam with a score of 90% or higher during orientation
- Ability to comply with facility fingernail policy — artificial nails are prohibited in all patient care areas
- Valid driver's license required at time of submittal
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with EPIC EMR
- Strong interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a fast-paced surgical team
- Flexibility to adjust shifts and accept call on short notice to accommodate changing OR volumes
