Registered Nurse – Operating Room

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Day Shift (4x10 Hours, 7:00–17:30) with possible night shift rotation (19:00–7:30) | Onsite

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide perioperative nursing care in an operating room setting with a predominant focus on orthopedic cases
  • Perform scrub and circulating duties across a variety of surgical specialties including general, bariatric, colorectal, and robotic-assisted cases
  • Participate in weeknight call coverage averaging 1–2 nights per week
  • Participate in weekend call coverage approximately every 4–5 weeks (24-hour Saturday or Sunday call, 1–2 days per month)
  • Adapt to scheduling needs including possible off-shift assignments occurring up to 1–3 shifts within a 4-week scheduling period
  • Chart accurately and efficiently using EPIC electronic health records system
Required Qualifications
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Nebraska or a pending Nebraska RN state license
  • Minimum of 2 years of Operating Room RN experience
  • Current BLS certification
  • Experience with the majority of the following case types: Lap chole, Lap appy, Ex lap, I&D, Bariatric, Colorectal, PEG & Trach, and DaVinci robotic-assisted cases
  • Prior travel nursing experience required (first-time travelers not accepted)
  • Proficiency with EPIC charting system
Preferred Experience / Skills
  • DaVinci robotic-assisted surgery experience highly preferred
  • Experience in Oncology, Orthopedic, and/or Neurosurgery cases highly preferred
  • Strong orthopedic surgical skillset comprising a majority of case experience
