Registered Nurse – Operating Room

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Days | 10-hour shifts, 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM | Expected 72 hours biweekly (on-call hours not included) | Approximately 2 on-call shifts per month

Key Responsibilities

• Provide skilled perioperative nursing care within an operating room environment across a range of surgical specialties
• Apply demonstrated working knowledge of aseptic technique principles throughout all surgical procedures
• Operate complex surgical equipment in support of procedures including endoscopic, laser, ENT, ortho, plastic, podiatry, neuro, general, thoracic, urology, and vascular cases
• Participate in on-call coverage as scheduled (approximately 2 calls per month)
• Pass a facility-required ECG/Telemetry and Medications competency test (85% passing score; one attempt only) prior to assignment start

Required Qualifications

• Current Massachusetts Registered Nurse (RN) license required
• BLS certification required
• Orthopedic surgical experience required, including ortho trauma and general surgery
• Current, active Operating Room experience required
• Travel nursing experience required
• Flu vaccination required prior to start (medical exemption accepted)
• Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Neurosurgery experience is a strong plus
• Broad multi-specialty OR experience across surgical service lines
• Familiarity with advanced surgical equipment and endoscopic systems
