Registered Nurse (RN) – General Surgery Operating Room
Location
Reno, Nevada
Schedule / Job Type
Contract (13 Weeks) | Full-Time | Onsite | 4x10-hour shifts, Monday–Thursday, 8:45 PM – 7:15 AM | No Call Required | 40 Guaranteed Hours Per Week
Key Responsibilities
Provide optimal patient care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation across an entire episode of care
Deliver comprehensive nursing services to a patient population ranging from neonates to geriatrics in a Level II Trauma Operating Room environment
Support a wide range of surgical procedures including trauma, neurosurgery, robotic surgery, urology, vascular, open heart, orthopedic, pediatric, and general surgery cases
Diagnose and treat human responses to health problems, demonstrating cognitive and psychosocial competency specific to the population served
Coordinate care across multidisciplinary teams and incorporate family or significant others into the care planning process as appropriate
Exercise continuous intensive mental effort to ensure safe patient care and sound clinical judgment in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
Required Qualifications
Active Nevada State RN License required prior to start date
Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Trauma Operating Room setting
Competency assessment (CMP) completed within 1 year of start date (applicable to Pre-op/Recovery RN, PACU, OR, and SDS roles)
Preferred Experience / Skills
Experience with Da Vinci Xi robotic surgical systems
Familiarity with neurosurgical procedures such as ACDF, spinal fusions, or craniotomies
Prior experience in a high-volume trauma center environment comparable to a Level I designation
