Registered Nurse – Operating Room (Ophthalmology)

Schedule / Job Type
Contract | Full-Time | 40 hours per week | Primarily Monday–Friday Days with on-call responsibilities for evenings, nights, and weekends
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care for patients of all ages within an ophthalmology operating room setting using a multidisciplinary approach
- Perform in both scrub and circulating roles across a range of ophthalmology surgical procedures
- Support surgical cases involving cataracts, retina, glaucoma, cornea, and pediatric ophthalmology
- Fulfill on-call responsibilities for evening, night, and weekend coverage as needed
Required Qualifications
- Active New York State Registered Nurse (RN) license required
- Demonstrated experience scrubbing and circulating in an operating room environment
- Hands-on experience with cataracts, retina, glaucoma, cornea, and pediatric ophthalmology cases
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association required
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Minimum of two (2) years of operating room experience in a Level 1 trauma center
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification through the American Heart Association
