Travel RN – Operating Room (OR)
Location
Selma, Alabama
Schedule / Job Type
Contract | 13 Weeks | Full-Time | Onsite | Days | Monday–Friday 6:30 AM–3:00 PM with on-call requirements (7 days per month including one weekend per month; call hours 3:00 PM–6:30 AM)
Key Responsibilities
Demonstrate critical thinking, scientific judgment, and leadership in anticipating and planning for patient care in the operating room
Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, OR technicians, and other surgical team members to deliver safe, high-quality patient care in accordance with the State Nurse Practice Act, AORN standards, and facility policies
Perform circulator duties including ensuring appropriate supplies are available, maintaining timeliness of surgical cases, and communicating with patient families
Scrub and assist physicians during surgical cases across specialties including Endoscopy, Orthopedic, and General Surgery
Update and maintain physician preference cards and departmental documentation
Supervise personnel involved in the delivery of patient care within the surgical department
Required Qualifications
Current Alabama RN license or valid multi-state RN license
Minimum 4 years of recent OR RN experience in a hospital setting
Active ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications (must be through the American Heart Association)
Experience as an OR Circulator with Endoscopy experience
Proficiency in Endoscopy, Orthopedic, and General Surgery specialties
Preferred Experience / Skills
Experience in ENT and/or GYN surgical specialties
Prior travel nursing experience in a hospital or community hospital setting
