Key Responsibilities
  • Utilize the nursing process to perform direct patient care activities for all age groups, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Monitor and coordinate patient care activities with ancillary departments to optimize patient care and comfort.
  • Maintain professional accountability for the provision of patient care and evaluate the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct caregivers.
  • Coordinate patient care in conjunction with other departments while maintaining patient rights and confidentiality of patient information.
  • Function within the scope of nursing preparation and consistent with established guidelines of nursing practice and applicable state Nurse Practice Act standards.
  • Perform call duties as required, averaging approximately 5 or fewer call shifts per 8-week period, on any day scheduled; weekend hours as required by facility.
Required Qualifications
  • Current RN License — must meet criteria for eligibility for licensure in the state of Missouri or currently hold an active Missouri RN license.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) only.
  • Minimum 2 years of Level 1 or Level 2 Trauma experience (teaching hospital experience will be considered).
  • Demonstrated experience as both a Scrub and OR Circulator.
  • Flu vaccination or approved exemption required November 1 through April 1; declinations are not accepted.
Preferred Experience / Skills
  • Level 1 Trauma experience with multiple years of OR practice.
  • Experience working with a broad patient population ranging from outpatient to critical care inpatient.
  • Familiarity with EPIC EMR and robotic surgical systems such as the DaVinci platform.
