Registered Nurse - Operating Room

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Full-Time | Nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | Onsite | Weekend, holiday, and on-call required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide quality patient care in an Operating Room setting, including assessment of clinical, teaching, mental, and spiritual needs
• Utilize clinical equipment and instrumentation to maintain a safe and aseptic environment in the OR/ASU setting
• Recognize and respond to safety issues, including proper assessment and implementation of patient lift techniques
• Interpret lethal dysrhythmias and respond appropriately in high-acuity situations
• Function effectively in stressful situations, applying strong problem-solving and prioritization skills
• Assume charge nurse duties as required, including delegation and leadership of nursing staff

Required Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
• Current New York State RN license (must be in hand)
• Minimum of 2 years of Operating Room RN experience
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Ability to meet on-call requirements with a 30-minute response time

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred
• Experience with MEDITECH electronic health records system
• Preceptorship, charge nurse, or formal leadership experience
