Job Details:
• Day shift position Monday through Friday
• Shift hours from 6:45 AM to 3:15 PM with potential to stay late until cases are completed
• 8-hour shifts scheduled with possibility of extended hours beyond 3:00 PM
• Minimum of 1 weekday call shift per week required with 30-minute response time
• Up to every other weekend of call required with 30-minute response time
• Required to rotate holiday call with 30-minute response time
• 2 years minimum experience as an OR technician required
• Must have experience in ophthalmology including ability to independently perform cataract and cornea procedures
• Must be able to scrub and circulate ambulatory surgery procedures
• Common cases include scleral buckle, vitrectomy, corneal transplants, cataracts, minor general surgery, minor spine stabilization procedures, spinal cord stimulators, ENT procedures, and dental
• 6 operating suites with an average of 22 cases per day
• May be required to float to other surgical departments
• Scrubs will be provided
• Charting system: EPIC
• Required certification: BLS (AHA)
Facility:
This acute care facility operates a One Day Surgery building featuring 6 operating suites handling an average of 22 cases per day across a diverse range of surgical specialties. The facility provides comprehensive surgical services including ophthalmology, general surgery, spine procedures, ENT, and dental, supported by an experienced team and structured orientation program. The organization utilizes EPIC as its charting system and maintains a charge nurse and house supervisor to support clinical staff.
