Registered Nurse (RN)

Shift & Schedule

Night shift from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM.

Overview

The Registered Nurse in a clinical setting practices independently, demonstrating awareness of all relevant aspects of patient care. This role involves providing both routine and complex care, assisting patients with long-range goals or plans, and managing clinical contingencies effectively.

Responsibilities

• Exhibit leadership as a self-directed professional and maintain competencies relevant to the role.
• Utilize the nursing process—including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation—to deliver comprehensive nursing care.
• Address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and their families.
• Administer medications and treatments according to established protocols while monitoring for side effects and treatment effectiveness.
• Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided accurately.
• Assess learning needs and offer education to patients, family members, and caregivers; identify relevant issues and resources for support.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred.
• Experience: Minimum of 2 years experience in a related nursing specialty required.
• Licenses and Certifications:
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required (American Heart Association only).
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required (American Heart Association only).
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification required (American Heart Association only).
  • Registered Nurse (RN) License in Texas or a compact state required.
