Job Summary:
Operating Room (OR) Nurse position available in Washington, District of Columbia. This role involves scrubbing and circulating duties for operative procedures, ensuring adherence to aseptic techniques, and coordinating intraoperative patient care. The position requires a commitment to a daytime schedule and on-call responsibilities during nights, weekends, and holidays.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Days shift, 10 hours per day, with a minimum of 40 hours per week. The start date is 08/24/2026.
  • Required Qualifications: Graduation from an accredited or NLN-approved registered nursing (RN) program; current license to practice as a Registered Nurse within the state/district; at least 2 years of acute care operating room (OR) experience; BSN preferred; PALS, BLS, and ACLS certifications.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Not specified.
  • Additional Information: The operating room nurse is responsible for scrubbing and/or circulating duties for operative procedures; department admissions to the operative suite. Adheres to standards and appropriate aseptic techniques. Consults and coordinates with team members to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate intraoperative patient care plans. Serves as a communication liaison to patients, families, and members of the operating team. Prepares the operating room for the patient and surgical procedure, assembling equipment and supplies, and ensuring functionality and availability of supplies and implants.
