Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN)

This position involves the assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation, and documentation of nursing care for patients in the operating room. The role adheres to organizational policies and maintains professional nursing standards while utilizing a framework for nursing practice and development. The Operating Room Registered Nurse is accountable for the quality of nursing services provided by themselves or staff under their direction, employing specialized knowledge, judgment, and skills to deliver appropriate care based on patients' physical and developmental needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess and evaluate patients' needs before, during, and after surgical procedures.
• Plan and implement appropriate nursing interventions.
• Document all aspects of care accurately and in a timely manner.
• Collaborate with surgical teams and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding surgical procedures and recovery.
• Maintain a safe and sterile operating environment.

Qualifications:

• Must have a minimum of 2 years of recent experience in the General Operating Room.
• Experience in Gynecological (GYN), Bariatrics, Vascular, Orthopedics, Neuro, and Plastics surgery is required.
• Active Registered Nurse license in the state of Maryland.
• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) by the American Heart Association.
• Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19; declinations are not accepted.
• Must be willing to work the facility's scheduled shifts and meet weekend requirements as determined by the facility.
• Experience with travel assignments is preferred.

Compliance Requirements:

Candidates must complete a 48-hour compliance process as a condition of employment. The start date must align with specified needs.
