Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN)

An exciting opportunity is available for a skilled Operating Room Registered Nurse with expertise in cardiovascular (CV) and general surgery. This role demands a dedicated professional to join a dynamic surgical team.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in the operating room setting, including both circulating and scrub roles.
• Collaborate with surgical teams for various procedures, including cardiac and general surgery, vascular, thoracic, and robotic surgeries.
• Demonstrate proficiency in complex surgical techniques such as vein harvesting and radial artery harvesting.
• Assist in perioperative assessments and ensure adherence to safety protocols and best practices.
• Maintain accurate patient records and ensure effective communication with the healthcare team.
• Participate in on-call rotations and weekend surgical support as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of RN experience, with at least 1 year of experience in the specialty area.
• Registered Nurse (RN) license in West Virginia or compact state; pending licenses are acceptable.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Proficiency in circulating and scrubbing for various surgical specialties.

Required Skills

• Vascular procedures: AV fistulas/grafts, aortic surgeries/bypasses, carotid surgeries, and embolectomies.
• Orthopedic surgeries: Arthroscopies and total joint replacements.
• General surgeries: Colorectal procedures, laparoscopic surgeries, and complex resections.
• ENT procedures: Tracheostomies, laryngectomies, and radical neck dissections.
• Urology surgeries: Cystectomies, nephrectomies, and prostatectomies.
• Robotic surgeries: Gynecological and colorectal procedures, including laparoscopic hernia repairs.
• Gynecological surgeries: Abdominal and vaginal hysterectomies.

Work Schedule

This position requires a commitment to a 3x12 hour schedule, including day shifts and weekend on-call responsibilities. Holiday time-off requests are limited to one of the three major holidays.

Additional Information

Candidates must be comfortable with a fast-paced environment, multitasking, and demonstrating strong critical thinking skills. A 30-minute response time is expected when on call.
