• Assignment Length: 14 weeks
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,960 - $2,070
• Shift: Day shift, 3x12-hour schedule (11:00 AM - 11:30 PM)
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Call: Required based on unit needs
• Orientation: 40 hours
• Charting System: Cerner / Surginet
• Patient Ratio: 1:1

Job Requirements

• Active Maryland RN license or compact RN license required at time of submission
• Minimum of 2 years of Operating Room nursing experience required
• Level II trauma experience required
• BLS required
• 16-hour Maryland-approved trauma course required by week 27
• 8 hours of annual trauma CEUs required
• ACLS, NIHSS, and PALS preferred
• Experience with a wide range of surgical specialties strongly preferred, including trauma, ENT, colorectal, plastics, neurosurgery, surgical oncology, oral/dental, laparoscopic procedures, urology, ophthalmology, GYN, general surgery, orthopedics, robotics, vascular, and thoracic cases
• Experience with emergency OR response, fire safety, malignant hyperthermia, and latex allergy precautions required
• Proficiency with electrosurgical units, fiber-optic equipment, and Steris equipment required
• Strong teamwork, adaptability, and communication skills needed for a busy surgical environment

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, age-appropriate perioperative care for pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients
• Support a high-volume operating room averaging approximately 40 cases per day
• Assist with a variety of surgical procedures across multiple specialties
• Function as a resource for patients and families while collaborating with the surgical care team
• Maintain sterile technique, patient safety, and efficient room turnover
• Respond appropriately to urgent situations, including emergency OR needs
• Prepare, operate, and monitor specialized surgical equipment and technology
• Float within scope as needed to support facility needs
• Follow unit protocols related to trauma care, infection control, and surgical safety standards
