Job Summary:
Operating Room (OR) Nurse in York, Pennsylvania. This position involves independently managing neurosurgical procedures within a specialized neurosurgery unit. The role requires experience in neuro, trauma, orthopedic, and robotics, with a focus on supporting complex surgical cases in a fast-paced environment.
Job Details:
- Schedule: 4, 10-hour shifts (0700-1730) or 3, 12-hour shifts (0700-1930). No guaranteed block scheduling.
- Required Qualifications: Valid RN license; a minimum of 2 years of clinical experience, including neuro, trauma, orthopedic, and robotic surgery experience; certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Emergency Improvement Certificate (EIC).
- Preferred Qualifications: Prior experience in a Level I or Level II trauma setting; familiarity with patient positioning (lateral, supine, prone) and specialized neuro procedures such as craniotomy, ventriculoperitoneal (VP) shunt management, and minimally invasive surgery.
- Schedule: 40 hours per week, with some call and weekend responsibilities as specified. Call shifts start after the end of the scheduled shift at 0700.
- Additional Information: Must be able to provide care for COVID-19 patients. The facility is tobacco and fragrance-free; prior notification required for traveler submission.
- Certifications: BLS and Epic experience heavily preferred.
- Travel Requirements: No specific travel experience required; the candidate must have required certifications and meet specified procedural competencies.
