Job Summary
Operating Room (OR) Nurse and Surgical Technician positions are available in a facility located in Presque Isle, Maine. These roles involve supporting general surgeries, including open and laparoscopic procedures such as bowel, gallbladder, appendix, hernias, urology, ENT, ophthalmology, gynecology (including C-sections), and heavy orthopedic trauma, with a preference for candidates experienced in trauma and total joints. The position requires handling after-hours and on-call cases, including trauma, emergency cesarean sections, and emergency general cases.

Job Details

• Schedule: Days shift, 8 hours per day, with a minimum of 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday from 0630 to 1500, with weekend on-call rotation only (Friday 1500 to Monday 0630).
• Required Qualifications: RN license with BLS certification; ACLS preferred; CST (Certified Surgical Technologist) certification through NCCT or CST through NBSTSA; minimum of 2 years of experience in operating room settings supporting bowel, gallbladder, appendix, hernias, urology, ENT, ophthalmology, gynecology including C-sections, and orthopedic trauma or total joints; experience with after-hours/on-call cases including trauma, ER cesarean sections, and emergency general cases.
• Preferred Qualifications: ACLS certification for RNs; experience with EMR system Cerner; familiarity with Alaris IV pumps and Pyxis medication dispensing.
• Additional Information: Support on the unit includes supervision and education, with CRNA involvement managing all rooms; orientation lasting approximately 2 weeks based on skill level. Scrub color is provided; free parking available. The call schedule requires RN to be on call one shift per week and one weekend every 4-6 weeks for emergent cases only, with a callback time of 30 minutes.
