Wellspring Nurse Source is seeking a travel nurse RN OR - Operating Room for a travel nursing job in Alexandria, Virginia.

Operating Room Nurse

We are seeking a skilled Operating Room Nurse with the ability to scrub and circulate in various surgical procedures. The ideal candidate will have experience in thoracic, trauma, neuro, spine, ortho, and robotics cases, as well as the following qualifications:

Qualifications

  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (must be AHA certified)
  • Certification in Nurse Operating Room (CNOR) preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in the operating room setting

Responsibilities

The Operating Room Nurse will be responsible for the following:

  • Scrubbing and circulating for a variety of surgical cases, including:
    • Orthopedic
    • Neurosurgery
    • Maxillofacial
    • ENT
    • Plastic surgery
    • Vascular
    • Colo-rectal
    • General surgery
    • Gynecological
    • Robotic surgery
    • Urology
    • Spine surgery
    • Podiatry
    • Thoracic surgery
    • Breast surgery
  • Participating in patient care and ensuring a safe surgical environment
  • Collaborating with the surgical team to provide optimal patient outcomes

Work Environment

The position is outlined as follows:

  • Number of operating suites: 11
  • Average number of cases per day: 25-35
  • Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system: EPIC
  • Scrubs are provided by the facility
  • Orientation: 1 week for day shifts, 2 weeks for night shifts
  • Shift hours: 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM, with shifts assigned without block scheduling
