• Call: Shared among OR RNs, averaging about 7 calls in a 6-week period; weekday and weekend call coverage required

Job Requirements

• Active RN license
• Minimum of 2 years of Operating Room experience
• BLS required
• ACLS preferred
• Experience with General Surgery, Orthopedics, OB/GYN, Robotics, Urology, Hand, and Podiatry cases
• Strong knowledge of sterile technique, intraoperative workflow, and patient advocacy
• Ability to adapt quickly in a busy surgical setting
• Fingerprinting required for New Mexico travel nursing assignments

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive perioperative nursing care throughout the intraoperative phase
• Serve as the circulating nurse to promote patient safety and support the sterile field
• Coordinate workflow and communication among surgeons, anesthesia providers, surgical technologists, and nursing team members
• Prepare operating rooms, manage equipment and supplies, and anticipate procedural needs
• Document accurately and maintain compliance with clinical and regulatory standards
• Assist with specimen handling, medication administration, and case coordination
• Advocate for patients and respond effectively to changing surgical conditions
• Support efficient, high-quality surgical care across a diverse case mix
