Job Summary:
Operating Room (OR) Nurse specializing in surgical services in Charleston, West Virginia. This day shift position involves supporting various ophthalmology and general surgery procedures within a surgical unit. The role requires collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient care and safety.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Day shift, Monday through Friday, with 8-hour shifts from 0645 to 1515 hours, potentially extending late into cases to ensure completion.
  • Required Qualifications: BLS (American Heart Association) certification; minimum of 1 year of experience as an Operating Room Technician or perioperative support role; licensure to practice in the state of West Virginia.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience in ophthalmology and familiarity with ophthalmic surgical procedures such as scleral buckle, vitrectomy, corneal transplants, and cataracts.
  • Experience or 'Must have' skills: Two years minimum experience as an Operating Room Technician (ORT) with specific ophthalmology case support.
  • Call Requirements: Minimum of one weekday call shift per week with a 30-minute response time; up to every other weekend and rotating holiday call with a 30-minute response.
  • Floating: Might be required to float to other surgical departments as needed.
  • Dress Code: Scrubs will be provided.
  • Orientation: Hospital orientation followed by unit-specific staff orientation.
  • Cancellation Policy: Two shifts per 13-week assignment, or one shift for assignments shorter than 13 weeks.
  • Charting System: EPIC.
