Job Summary:
The Operating Room (OR) Nurse position is based in a healthcare facility located in San Francisco, California. This role involves providing specialized perioperative nursing care within a surgical environment. The OR nurse will be responsible for supporting a variety of surgical procedures, ensuring patient safety, and maintaining sterile protocol throughout operations.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Day shift, 8 hours per day, minimum of 40 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: California Registered Nurse (RN) license, Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, Certified Nurse Operating Room (CNOR), minimum of 3 years of surgical experience, previous travel assignment experience, scrub and circulate skills.
- Preferred Qualifications: Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Certifications: ACLS (preferred), BLS, CNOR.
- Special Procedures/Unit Details: Experience with a wide range of surgical procedures including otolaryngology, head and neck surgeries, craniotomies, oral and maxillofacial surgeries, plastic surgeries, dental surgeries, combined neurosurgeries, open and endoscopic cases, and use of the Da Vinci Xi surgical robot.
- Unit Support: Interdisciplinary support services including interpretation, radiology, pharmacy, and administrative staff.
- Orientation Hours: 40 hours, with specifics provided during onboarding.
- Start Date: 09/01/2026.
- Location: 505 Parnassus Ave, San Francisco, CA 94143.
- Additional Notes: Candidate must have experience with robotic surgeries, complex procedures such as liver and kidney transplants, and neuro surgeries. Floating to other UCSF facilities and units may be required.
