Prime Time Healthcare Nursing is seeking a travel nurse RN OR - Operating Room for a travel nursing job in South Charleston, West Virginia.

OR RN – One Day Surgery / Ambulatory Surgery

System: WVU
Unit: OR – One Day Surgery
Shift: Days, Monday–Friday
Hours: 8-hour shifts, typically 6:45A–3:15P
Late Stay: May be required to stay past 3:15P until cases are completed
Suites: 6
EMR: Epic
Certification: AHA BLS

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 2 years OR experience
• Ophthalmology experience required
• Must be able to independently perform:
  • Cataract cases
  • Corneal procedures
• Must be able to scrub and circulate ambulatory surgery cases

Common Cases

• Cataracts
• Corneal transplants
• Vitrectomy
• Scleral buckle
• Minor general surgery
• Minor spine stabilization
• Spinal cord stimulators
• ENT procedures
• Dental procedures

Call Requirements

• Minimum 1 weekday call shift per week
• Weekend call may be required up to every other weekend
• Holiday call rotates
• 30-minute response time for all call

Float

May be required to float to other surgical departments based on facility needs.

Scrubs / Orientation

• Hospital-provided scrubs
• Hospital orientation followed by unit orientation in One Day Surgery

Important WVU Submission Rules

• Candidate can only be submitted to 1 WVU position at a time
• Driver’s license address must be more than 50 miles from the facility
• Previous permanent employees must have been gone for 2 years
• Previous travelers who worked there for a full year must also be gone for 2 years
• Travel pairs/teams must be submitted together
• Only 2 candidates may be submitted per opening

Cancellation Policy

• Assignments 13+ weeks: facility may cancel up to 2 shifts
• Assignments under 13 weeks: facility may cancel 1 shift

Recruiter Notes

The biggest hard stop is ophthalmology. This is not a general OR opening. The candidate needs to be able to independently handle cataract and corneal cases and must be comfortable both scrubbing and circulating.

Also confirm the candidate can meet the 30-minute call response time, especially with potential every-other-weekend call.
