Travel Nursing Job Details

• Location: Boston, Massachusetts
• Assignment Type: 13-week travel nursing contract
• Start Date: November 2, 2026
• End Date: January 30, 2027
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,530-$2,660
• Schedule: 36 hours per week; 12-hour day/night rotation
• Shift Start Times: Approximately 7:00 a.m. for day shifts and 7:00 p.m. for night shifts
• Weekend Requirement: Every third weekend as needed
• Holiday Requirement: Every other holiday
• On-Call Requirement: Approximately once per scheduled rotation
• Department: Surgical services with 17 operating rooms and 24/7 coverage

Operating Room Registered Nurse Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in Massachusetts
• At least 2 years of recent inpatient Operating Room (OR) nursing experience
• Prior scrub experience is required
• Competency in at least five surgical service lines
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Level I trauma experience preferred
• Experience with neurosurgery, vascular surgery, and a range of cases beyond general, gynecologic, and genitourinary procedures is preferred
• Positive attitude, flexibility, and excellent communication skills

Travel OR Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide safe, efficient perioperative nursing care throughout the surgical experience
• Prepare operating rooms, surgical equipment, supplies, and instrumentation for scheduled procedures
• Perform scrub duties and support the circulating nurse role according to experience and department needs
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, surgical technologists, and the broader perioperative team
• Support procedures across general, gynecologic, genitourinary, oral, otolaryngology, bariatric, orthopedic, neurologic, vascular, thoracic, cardiac, plastic, podiatric, robotic, pediatric, trauma, and spine services
• Maintain strict adherence to sterile technique, patient safety standards, and infection prevention practices
• Complete accurate documentation and communicate patient information effectively during handoffs
• Adapt to changing surgical schedules, provide on-call coverage, and float to another operating room area when needed
