Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN) to join our surgical team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing excellent patient care in the operating room, ensuring the highest standards of safety and quality during surgical procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with pre-surgical preparation and patient positioning.
• Effectively perform circulating duties during surgical procedures.
• Provide scrub assistance as required, ensuring all instruments and supplies are ready for surgical teams.
• Maintain a sterile operating environment in compliance with best practices.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and surgical technicians to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Facilitate smooth transitions between surgical cases and maintain proper inventory of surgical supplies.

Qualifications

• Current Massachusetts RN license.
• Minimum of 2 years of current experience as an Operating Room RN.
• Proven scrub and circulate experience.
• Certification in Nurse Operating Room (CNOR) is preferred.
• Experience with Meditech Expanse is highly preferred.
• American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS certification.
• American Heart Association or American Red Cross ACLS certification.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and have access to a reliable vehicle.

Shift and Schedule

This position is for 8-hour afternoon shifts, with a total of 40 hours per week. Weekend and holiday work may be required based on operational needs, including major holidays such as Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Orientation and Training

All new hires will participate in an orientation, which will include non-billable hours dedicated to gaining familiarity with the operating procedures and protocols of the organization.
