Pediatric Operating Room Nurse Job Requirements

• At least 5 years of Registered Nurse experience, including operating room experience
• Previous pediatric operating room nursing experience required
• Valid Washington State or compact Registered Nurse license
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Ability to circulate a broad range of pediatric surgical cases
• Strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and attention to detail

Operating Room Registered Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate perioperative nursing care to pediatric patients
• Circulate pediatric procedures across ENT, general surgery, orthopedic, and urologic specialties
• Complete preoperative assessments and prepare patients for surgery
• Maintain patient safety, positioning, surgical counts, and aseptic technique throughout procedures
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, surgical technologists, and the broader care team
• Recognize and respond to the unique clinical needs of children with congenital conditions, medical conditions, and injuries
• Document patient care accurately in the electronic medical record
• Support efficient operating room turnover and readiness for scheduled surgical cases
