Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) – General Surgery | Roles & Responsibilities
Provide perioperative nursing care by circulating surgical procedures in a fast-paced Operating Room.
Prepare the operating room, surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies before procedures.
Assess, monitor, and advocate for patients before, during, and after surgery.
Maintain a sterile environment and adhere to infection prevention and patient safety standards.
Assist surgeons, anesthesia providers, and the surgical team during a variety of general and specialty procedures.
Document perioperative care accurately in the electronic medical record.
Participate in on-call rotation and respond within the required 30-minute response time.
Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure safe, efficient surgical care.
Required Documents / Certifications
Active RN License
BLS Certification (AHA)
Minimum 2 years of Operating Room RN experience
Strong circulating experience in General Surgery
Experience with Orthopedic, Neuro/Spine, ENT, General, GYN, GU, Vascular, Oncology, Laparoscopic, and Robotics (preferred)
EPIC experience preferred
