Operating Room (OR) General Surgery Circulating RN – Day Shift

  • Schedule: Day Shift | 5x8-Hour Shifts (Will Consider 4x10-Hour Shifts) | 40 Guaranteed Hours Per Week
    • Shift Windows: 07:00 – 17:30 or 12:30 – 23:00 (determined by operational need; no self-scheduling).
    • Call Requirements:
      • Weeknight Call: 1 shift per week (assigned shifts: 15:30–23:00, 17:30–23:00, 19:30–23:00, or 23:00–07:00).
      • Weekend Call: Every 2nd or 3rd weekend (full weekend coverage plus assigned call shift).
      • Call Response Time [HARDSTOP]: Mandatory 30-minute arrival response time when on call [HARDSTOP].
      • Fatigue Policy: If working $>4$ hours after 23:00 while on call, 8 hours of mandatory rest is required before the next scheduled shift.
    • Floating Protocol: May float to other surgical specialty teams or Sterile Processing Department (SPD) if qualified.
  • Drug Screen Policy [HARDSTOP]: Strict drug-free facility policy; must pass a pre-employment multi-panel drug screen [HARDSTOP].
  • Required Attire: Hospital-provided surgical scrubs required.

Submission Hardstops [STRICT & NON-NEGOTIABLE]

  • Experience Baseline [HARDSTOP]: Minimum 2+ years of recent Operating Room circulating experience in acute care hospital settings of similar size [HARDSTOP].
  • Surgical Service Line Competencies [HARDSTOP]: Direct clinical proficiency strictly required across General Surgery, Urology, Gynecology (GYN), and ENT service lines [HARDSTOP].
  • EMR Proficiency [HARDSTOP]: Direct documentation experience in Epic OpTime EMR is required [HARDSTOP].
  • Licensure Requirements [IN-HAND OR IN-PROCESS]: Active Illinois State RN License OR documented proof that the IL licensure application process has been formally initiated [HARDSTOP].
  • Certifications [IN-HAND AT SUBMISSION]: Active AHA BLS (Basic Life Support) certification [HARDSTOP].
  • Required Submittal Elements: Last 4 digits of SSN, Middle Initial, Requested Time Off (RTO), and Licensure status.
