Travel Operating Room RN
Experience Required: Minimum 1 year of recent OR RN experience
License: Active Massachusetts RN license
Call: Required for off-shifts, weekends, and holidays
Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred
Position Overview
Seeking an experienced Operating Room RN to provide safe, efficient perioperative care and support the daily operations of the surgical department. The nurse will circulate cases, coordinate patient care, supervise ancillary staff, and help maintain supplies, equipment, medication inventory, and OR workflow.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of recent Operating Room RN experience
- Active Massachusetts RN license
- Current BLS
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
- Must be able to read, write, and communicate clearly in English
- Must be able to wear a lead apron as required
- Must participate in off-shift, weekend, and holiday call
Preferred Qualifications
- BSN
- Charge Nurse experience
- Previous OR leadership or resource nurse experience
Key Responsibilities
- Assess patients and develop individualized perioperative plans of care
- Implement and evaluate nursing interventions
- Administer medications and monitor patient responses
- Maintain accurate and current clinical documentation
- Coordinate care with surgeons, anesthesia, and the interdisciplinary team
- Circulate Operating Room procedures
- Direct and supervise ancillary personnel
- Function as a Charge Nurse and clinical resource when assigned
- Support staff orientation and education
- Maintain OR supplies, equipment, and medication inventory
- Promote patient safety, infection prevention, and bloodborne-pathogen precautions
- Assist with daily OR operations in collaboration with nursing leadership and anesthesia
