Job Details:
• Work 12-hour day shifts from 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM
• Required to work 4 weekend shifts within a 4-week period
• Required to work some holidays
• On-call shifts may occur due to low census with potential to be called back in
• May float to Medical, Medical Oncology, and Telemetry units that run cardiac drips
• Titrate drips including Heparin and Ketamine (set rate), antibiotics, and blood products
• Manage frequent IV treatments
• Work with BiPAP, CPAP, and nasal cannulas respiratory equipment
• Prior telemetry reading experience preferred as unit has monitor techs to read strips
• Self-scheduling available with block scheduling options, though flexibility is requested
• Cancellation policy allows 2 cancellations per 13-week assignment
• Charting system: EPIC
• Acute care setting in a Trauma Level 2 facility
• Navy blue scrubs with facility logo required
• Unit-specific orientation consists of 2-3 shifts during the first week
• Overtime allowed when needed with potential opportunities to precept
• Nurses provided with phones and trackers
• Required certifications: BLS Certification, NIHSS

This is a Magnet-designated acute care facility operating at Trauma Level 2, recognized for excellence in nursing practice and patient outcomes. The facility holds stroke and bariatric certifications, reflecting its commitment to specialized, high-quality care. The unit is fast-paced and utilizes an EPIC charting system, with dedicated charge nurses, CNA support, and respiratory therapy resources to support the clinical team.
