Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Medical Surgical Orthopedics to join our team. The successful candidate will provide high-quality nursing care to patients during their recovery from orthopedic procedures and surgeries.

Schedule

  • Shift: 3x12 Hour Days (07:00 - 19:30)
  • Weekend Coverage: Every 3rd weekend

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients undergoing orthopedic surgeries, including joint replacements and spinal surgery.
  • Monitor and assess patient conditions, implementing appropriate care plans and interventions.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to enhance patient recovery and well-being.
  • Assist with the preparation and care of peripheral nerve block catheters and surgical drains.
  • Float between Orthopedic and MedSurg units as required.

Patient Population

The nurse will primarily work with patients experiencing:

  • Joint replacements
  • Spinal surgery
  • Orthopedic trauma
  • Hand trauma
  • Fractures

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in Med Surg Orthopedics required.
  • Completion of at least one travel assignment preferred.
  • Experience with orthopedic nursing practices, including peripheral nerve block catheters and total joint replacements.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Additional Requirements

This position requires compliance with annual flu vaccination policies.
