Job Details:
• Work night shifts on a 22-bed Orthopedic/Telemetry unit
• Shift schedule includes Saturday, Sunday, Monday, and rotating holidays
• Every other weekend or 2 weekend shifts per schedule required
• Travelers are expected to work into the holiday rotation
• Patient ratios of 1:5-6 with 3 CNAs per shift
• Strong orthopedic experience required with Total Joint Replacement experience (not just fractures)
• Common patient diagnoses include orthopedic joints, replacements, and fractures
• Telemetry present on unit but RNs are not required to read strips
• RNs are not required to titrate drips
• Charge Nurse available 24/7
• May float to units 7E, 7W, 10W, and 10E
• Respiratory therapy equipment such as CPAP, BiPAP, and high flow used as needed
• Charting system: EPIC
• 1-2 shifts of unit-specific orientation provided
• Cancellation policy: 2 shifts per 13-week contract
• Scrub color: Royal Blue
• Required certification: BLS
• BSN not required
• Acute care setting, Trauma Level 1 facility

This is a large academic medical center and Trauma Level 1 facility offering a wide range of specialized medical services. The facility operates multiple inpatient units across various specialties and utilizes EPIC as its electronic health record system. The organization maintains high standards for patient care with dedicated charge nurses available around the clock and a structured support team including nursing aides on each unit.
