Pay Breakdown:

  • Weekly Gross: $2,750
  • W2:  $17/hr.
  • Stipend:  $2,138 Weekly

Requirements

  • CO or Compact State RN license - Required
  • Minimum 1+ year of Med Surg Ortho experience - Required.
  • BLS, ACLS, NIHSS certifications required.

Job Summary:

We're seeking an experienced Travel Medical-Surgical/Orthopedic Registered Nurse (Med Surg Ortho RN) for a 13-week assignment with a leading healthcare facility. The Med Surg Ortho RN provides comprehensive, patient-centered care to adult patients with acute medical conditions, orthopedic injuries, and post-operative orthopedic procedures. The ideal candidate is skilled in patient assessment, medication administration, pain management, wound care, and orthopedic recovery while delivering safe, evidence-based nursing care in a fast-paced acute care setting.
 

Duties

  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized care for medical-surgical and orthopedic patients.
  • Monitor patient condition, vital signs, neurovascular status, and pain levels, reporting changes promptly.
  • Administer medications, IV therapies, blood products, and treatments as prescribed.
  • Provide preoperative and postoperative care for orthopedic procedures, including joint replacements, fracture repairs, and spine surgeries.
  • Perform wound care, dressing changes, drain management, and cast or splint assessments.
  • Assist patients with mobility, ambulation, fall prevention, and rehabilitation using appropriate assistive devices.
  • Monitor for post-operative complications, including infection, deep vein thrombosis (DVT), pulmonary embolism (PE), and neurovascular compromise.
  • Collaborate with physicians, orthopedic surgeons, physical and occupational therapists, case managers, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
  • Educate patients and families on medications, pain management, mobility precautions, rehabilitation, and discharge planning.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR).
  • Adhere to infection prevention protocols, patient safety standards, and hospital policies.
  • Deliver compassionate, high-quality, evidence-based care to promote optimal patient recovery and outcomes.
