Travel Registered Nurse (RN) – Outpatient Oncology Clinic in Columbus, Ohio

Travel RN Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,920–$2,020
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks

- Healthcare Setting: On-site outpatient oncology clinic
- Shift: Day shift
- Shift Duration: 10-hour days
- Schedule: Four 10-hour shifts, typically 7:00 a.m.–5:30 p.m. or 7:30 a.m.–6:00 p.m.; an alternate schedule of five 8-hour shifts may be available based on clinic needs
- Weekend Requirement: None
- Patient Population: Infants, children, adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients
- Clinic Volume: Approximately 45 visits per day across 17 rooms
Registered Nurse Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Ohio or a valid compact-state license at the time of submission
- At least 2 years of Registered Nurse experience in an oncology clinic or comparable outpatient oncology setting
- Experience with Epic electronic health record documentation is required
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Oncology nursing experience involving radiation therapy, symptom management, pediatric oncology, and central-line or port care
- Preferred certifications include Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN), ONS/ONCC, Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
- Ability to provide two professional references, including at least one manager, director, supervisor, or other formal leader
- Successful completion of applicable Ohio credentialing and fingerprinting requirements
Outpatient Oncology Nurse Responsibilities
- Deliver safe, compassionate nursing care to oncology patients receiving cancer treatment and symptom management
- Assess patients, identify changes in condition, and communicate clinical findings to the interdisciplinary care team
- Access, manage, and provide care for implanted ports, PICC lines, central lines, and other vascular access devices
- Start and maintain IVs, perform phlebotomy, administer medications, and provide IV push medication as appropriate
- Monitor and support patients experiencing nausea, vomiting, pain, neuropathy, edema, altered mental status, constipation, diarrhea, and other treatment-related symptoms
- Apply radiation safety precautions, neutropenic precautions, isolation procedures, and appropriate personal protective equipment
- Provide patient and family education related to cancer treatment, symptom management, medications, and follow-up care
- Support care for patients with a broad range of diagnoses, including head and neck cancers, sarcoma, central nervous system cancers, thoracic cancers, genitourinary cancers, and pediatric cancers
- Float within the oncology clinic as needed while maintaining high standards of patient safety and service
- Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately in Epic
