Travel Registered Nurse (RN) – Pre-Op/PACU | Outpatient Surgery in Dublin, Ohio
Seeking an experienced Travel Registered Nurse for a 13-week outpatient surgery assignment in Dublin, Ohio. Travel Nursing Job Details
- Location: Dublin, Ohio
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,040–$2,140
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks
- Start Date: November 16, 2026
- Schedule: 5 shifts per week; rotating 8-hour day shifts
- Shift Duration: 8-hour days
- Typical Shift Windows: 6:00 a.m.–2:30 p.m., 7:30 a.m.–4:00 p.m., or 8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m.
- Patient Population: Adolescents and adults
- Patient Ratio: Approximately 1:2
- Daily Census: Approximately 10 patients
- Documentation: Epic
- Medication System: Pyxis
- Schedule Note: Hours may extend beyond the scheduled shift based on patient census and operational needs.
Registered Nurse Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Ohio or a valid compact-state license in hand at the time of submission
- Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, including relevant pre-operative and PACU nursing experience
- Previous charge nurse experience required
- Previous travel nursing experience required
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications
- Recent experience using Epic electronic health records and Pyxis medication systems
- Graduation from an ACEN- or CCNE-accredited nursing program
- Ability to provide two professional references, including at least one reference from a manager, director, supervisor, or other formal leader
- Strong patient assessment, communication, organization, and critical-thinking skills
Pre-Op and PACU Registered Nurse Responsibilities
- Complete thorough pre-operative nursing assessments, medication reconciliation, and review of medical histories and physicals
- Prepare patients for surgical and procedural care while promoting safety, comfort, and understanding
- Provide Phase I and Phase II post-anesthesia recovery care in an outpatient surgical setting
- Monitor airway, circulation, pain, sedation level, vital signs, and overall recovery status
- Recognize and respond to changes in patient condition, dysrhythmias, airway concerns, and procedural complications
- Administer medications, reversal agents, procedural sedation, and other therapies in accordance with applicable protocols
- Manage IV access, nerve blocks, spinal and post-epidural care, and other pre- and post-procedure needs
- Document patient care accurately in Epic and communicate effectively with patients, families, providers, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team
- Support safe discharge planning and provide follow-up instructions or phone calls as appropriate
- Serve as a clinical resource and demonstrate leadership in the outpatient surgery environment
