Job Summary: The organization is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Pediatric Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) at a facility located in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. The position involves caring for primarily pediatric patients (ages 0-17) in a busy, open bay unit with an average census of 30-40 patients per day. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day of employment.
Job Details:
Location: Winston-Salem, North Carolina
Schedule: 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week
Required Qualifications: Valid nursing license, at least 1 year of experience in critical care pediatrics, 2 years preferred, with experience managing vented patients, gtts, heparin, insulin, and cardiac medications. Must have completed at least one travel assignment. Certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) are required.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems, specifically EPIC; familiarity with EMR alarms, IV pumps, medication dispensing systems, and Philips monitors.
Additional Information: Scrubs are provided, and parking is free. Candidates should demonstrate self-motivation, resourcefulness, teamwork, and flexibility in an open bay environment. Care occasionally extends to adult patients based on unit needs. The unit uses a collaborative, all-hands-on-deck approach. Orientation includes a NEO day with two precepted shifts.
Float: Float rotation may be required, with occasional care for adult patients brought to the unit.
