PACU Registered Nurse (RN) – Travel Assignment in Portland, OR

Join a collaborative surgical care team as a PACU Registered Nurse (Post-Anesthesia Care Unit RN) in Portland, Oregon 97239. This 13-week travel nursing assignment in the South Waterfront area is an excellent opportunity for an experienced registered nurse who enjoys patient education, care coordination, and helping surgical patients transition safely through recovery.

  • Duration: 13 weeks
  • Shift: Day shift, 5x8 hours (7:00 AM - 3:30 PM); start times may vary between 7:00 AM and 9:00 AM
  • Hours per Week: 40
  • Orientation: 40 hours
  • Location: Portland, Oregon 97239

Job Requirements

  • Current, unencumbered Oregon Registered Nurse license
  • 2+ years of nursing experience required
  • Recent orthopedic operating room or orthopedic direct clinic patient care experience required
  • BLS certification from AHA required
  • Epic experience required
  • Strong communication, patient education, and care coordination skills
  • Ability to complete compliance, references, and work history verification requirements

Responsibilities

  • Complete patient assessments to identify understanding of care plans, barriers to treatment, and support needs
  • Coordinate smooth transitions of care before, during, and after surgery in the PACU and related surgical care setting
  • Provide education and support to patients and their families throughout the recovery process
  • Track referrals, follow-up needs, and key care milestones with accuracy and attention to detail
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to support patient flow, safety, and positive outcomes
  • Assist with triage of patient questions and concerns related to surgical care and postoperative recovery
  • Support quality improvement efforts by helping monitor patient experience and outcome measures
