Job Summary
Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) Nurse Location: unspecified. This role involves providing post-anesthesia care for patients in a busy acute care setting, supporting patients during recovery from anesthesia following various surgical procedures. The ideal candidate will be experienced in perioperative nursing with a focus on patient safety and quality care in a fast-paced environment.

Job Details

• Position Description: Provides care in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) including pre/postoperative patient management with a patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:1 or 1:2 during Phase 1 and 1:3 during Phase 2 recovery; manages common cases such as orthopedics, ENT, ophthalmology, gynecology, urology, endoscopy, bronchoscopy, and podiatry.
• Required Qualifications: Certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) from the American Heart Association; 1 year of nursing experience; active nursing license; ability to work 12-hour shifts, Monday through Friday, with a minimum of 36 hours weekly.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience in perioperative or PACU nursing highly desired.
• Additional Information: The role requires unit-specific orientation of up to three shifts and adherence to hospital dress code with OR scrubs. Nurse float rotation may be required to other pre/post anesthesia units as needed. The unit operates EPIC electronic medical records system; minimal experience with charge nurse responsibilities expected.
• Schedule: Rotating shifts, 12 hours per day, Monday through Friday, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Submission Requirements: Candidates must meet all qualification criteria and be available to start on 10/12/2026 with an end date of 01/11/2027.
