Job Summary: The healthcare organization is seeking a Pediatric Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) registered nurse (RN) for a position in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. The RN will be responsible for providing postoperative care to primarily pediatric patients (ages 0-17) in a busy open bay setting. Candidates are required to bring their nursing license on the first day of the assignment.
Job Details:
Location: Winston-Salem, North Carolina
Schedule: Day shift, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week
Required Qualifications: Valid nursing license; at least 1 year of experience in pediatric critical care, with 2 years preferred; Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification; Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Certification; comfortable managing intravenous medications such as heparin, insulin, and cardiac drugs; experience managing ventilated patients in the ICU setting; proficient with EPIC electronic medical record system; able to work in an open bay unit with a team-oriented approach.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience in a Post Anesthesia Care Unit setting, prior travel experience.
Additional Information:
Will not accept first-time travelers; must have completed at least one previous travel assignment.
Orientation includes NEO day with the facility and two precepted shifts.
Scrubs are provided. Parking is free.
Occasionally, care may be provided for adult patients who are transported to their unit.
Support staff includes transporters, HUC/Receptionists, and a dedicated PACU educator.
Technology includes Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing units, and Philips monitors.
